Ok, Gang, we’re recruiting Anime FX Officers! Do you want to be an officer? Then you should fill out this application!
Still need some convincing? Check out our Promo Video!
And here is a quick Q and A!
Q: I want to be an Officer, what do I need to do?
A: Well first make sure you reach the basic requirement: A San Francisco State Student with a 2.0 GPA. Then stand for election and if you’re voted in, you’ll be an officer!
However, there are additional issues you’ll need to look at. Are you going to be able to devote alot of time to the club? Are you going to be able to make each Friday’s event? If you’re not sure if you can meet these requirements, you might not want to be looking at a Volunteer Position
Q: Can I run for any position?
A: We’re actually still working out on what officer positions we will be having but we will have at least 7 officers, including the President. The only position that is not open to everyone is President; you must have had at least one semester as an Anime FX Officer before becoming President.
Q: Do I have to fill out the application/Do I need to have an interview?
A: No! They are both optional. However, even if you do not intend on interviewing or applying, we would be appreciative if you can give us a heads up that you intend on running.
Q: What’s the Point of them then?
A: The Application and Interview are both going to be useful for both potential officers and for the sitting officers. For potential officers, it will be a good way to figure out how to determine if they would like to be an officer or a volunteer, as well as finding out what will be expected of them as an Officer. For Sitting Officers, it will allow us to determine who will be good in what roles, as well as finding out potential strengths of the officers. If we think you’d be a good fit, then during elections we will recommend you to the electorate.
Q: What are you looking for in the interviews?
A: Generally we’re looking for someone who has ideas, who wants to genuinely make the Anime Club a better place, those who have applicable skills, and those who we feel would do well in Officer chemistry.
Q: What’s the difference between a Volunteer and an Officer?
A: A Volunteer is essentially a contractor; we will use them for one, maybe two events as staff or as planners. They will be obligated to attend meetings for their specific event or for their specific task, but other than that, Volunteers will be free to do as they please. Volunteers will NOT be needed to be elected, and will be used at the discretion of the Anime FX Officers.
Officers are the full time staff of the club. Officers will be obligated to come to meetings, events, and other Anime FX functions. It is a large time commitment, and if you cannot make it to campus on Fridays for the event, then this is DEFINITELY not the gig for you. Officers will be more involved in the actual planning of not just events but the direction and logistical aspects of the club as well.
